Volunteer With St. Nicholas

Volunteers are an important part of the St Nicholas community. Whether supporting school activities, offering professional expertise remotely, or raising awareness internationally, volunteers contribute to the environment in which our children learn and grow.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Through our holistic educational approach, we aim to empower our students academically and personally. We focus on developing critical thinkers who are equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow’s world with confidence.

Empowering Students

We ensure that every child has access to resources including mentorship, tutoring, and essential learning tools. By fostering a love for learning, we strive to transform lives and uplift our community.

Ways You Can Volunteer

On the Ground at the School

Volunteers who join us in Ghana often contribute directly to the life of the school, supporting learning activities, creative programmes, and student development. Many volunteers participate in classroom enrichment, extracurricular activities, and student mentoring initiatives that help bring additional energy and experience to the school community.

Volunteer placements are typically two- or four-week programmes.

Hands Tracing Art

Extra-Curricular Activities

Volunteers often support the school’s enrichment programmes, which include sports, music, arts, and STEM activities. Students participate in initiatives such as the Navy Cadet Corps, brass band, choreography, robotics, and a variety of sporting activities including football, basketball, table tennis, and athletics. These programmes encourage teamwork, creativity, and discipline while balancing academic learning with recreation.

Children Reading Together

Weekend Literature Class

The school runs a weekend literature programme twice a month to encourage reading and strengthen language skills. Volunteers may assist with storytelling sessions, reading groups, discussion activities, and creative writing exercises that help students build confidence and fluency in English.

Empowerment Programme

Volunteers can also support the school’s Girls’ and Boys’ Empowerment programmes. These initiatives focus on leadership, confidence building, life skills, and mentorship, helping students develop the resilience and self-belief needed to shape their future.
